Twingly Summer of Code

6 weeks, 4 interns, 1 mission impossible

Two days to go

We are so close to finishing the project, only a few small things is still left to do. The irritating part is that the few things we still have left is struggling a bit, there is some strange bugs and misbehaviors that have to be corrected. On top of this a lot of things are depending on each other, which leads to some difficulties with getting it all together.

However, we are having a great time (and I think I speak for all of us when I say that).

Today we have been finishing up some communication with the search engine to be able to load data dynamically. I had some problems with data that didn’t load as it should, in the end we discovered that it mattered how we started the project locally…

Oh, Helena and I both encountered some serious problems with the SVN again (surprise, surprise…). We haven’t figured out the exact cause to it yet, we could both do checkouts yesterday. Anyway, we have our fool proof way of repairing it by now, so I guess that we will merge the code tomorrow manually before cleaning up the SVN a bit.

I also got to see the graph being animated for the first time. I think it looks kinda cool… How about you?

The gang is in the newspaper

Yesterday we had a visit from Corren, a regional newspaper. They can be spotted in Episode #4. Today it got published… :)

The article in Corren

IT-studenter skapar bloggsökmotor i egen dokusåpa.

The article is in Swedish and by some strange reason Google Translate just doesn’t seem to be in the mood for a live translation of the article, you have to translate it manually. The title reads out as “IT students create blog search engine in their own reality show”.
